چکیده

Ultra-high strength steels are widely utilized in many applications operating harsh abrasive wear conditions. For instance, the machineries used mining and mineral handling or agricultural sector require robust, but cost-effective wear-resistant materials. Steels provide excellent combination of mechanical properties usability. This study encompasses testing an experimental medium-carbon press-hardening steel. The as-received material was austenitized at two different temperatures quenched water. Additionally, low-temperature tempering applied for one variant. In total, three variants steel were produced. Microstructural characterization conducted samples. carried out with high-stress method, which samples rotated inside a crushed granite bed. A commercial 400 HB grade included as reference. showed very high reaching tensile up to 2600 MPa hardness 750 HV10. Wear resulted only minimal differences between indicating that improved impact toughness by did not significantly affect resistance. reference had nearly times greater mass loss compared higher steels. Microhardness measurements on worn surface drastic increase deformed structure all It concluded even high-hardness martensitic exhibit notable work-hardening. Therefore, determined be most significant factor affecting performance studied

Fatigue Properties of the Ultra-High Strength Steel TM210A

This paper presents the results of an experiment to investigate the high cycle fatigue properties of the ultra-high strength steel TM210A. A constant amplitude rotating bending fatigue experiment was performed at room temperature at stress ratio R = -1. In order to evaluate the notch effect, the fatigue experiment was carried out upon two sets of specimens, smooth and notched, respectively. In ...

Notch fatigue behavior: Metallic glass versus ultra-high strength steel

Studying the effect of notch on the fatigue behavior of structural materials is of significance for the reliability and safety designing of engineering structural components. In this work, we conducted notch fatigue experiments of two high-strength materials, i.e. a Ti32.8Zr30.2Ni5.3Cu9Be22.7 metallic glass (MG) and a 00Ni18Co15Mo8Ti ultra-high strength steel (CM400 UHSS), and compared their no...

Bond of High Strength Concrete with High Strength Reinforcing Steel

This paper presents a study about the bond of high strength concrete with high strength steel. Fourteen pull out tests were carried out to determine the bond. The concrete strength was about 70 MPa and the steel was a 500 MPa grade. Bar diameters used were 12, 16, 20, 25, 28, 32 and 36 mm. In order to investigate the effect of cover, each test was done twice, once in a 240 mm diameter concrete ...

Stress- Corrosion Crack Initiation of High-strength Pipeline Steel in Near-neutral pH Environments

Stress-corrosion cracking (SCC) tests were conducted in the near-neutral pH standard solution, NS4, and in an actual soil solution, using four-point bending at a high stress ratio and low frequency conditions very similar to those of operational pipelines. Pitting incubation appeared first and then pitting initiated and grew in both solutions although there were many more pits on the specimen t...
